The Oceanographic Museum is the exhibition wing of the Institute of Oceanography, located at 1 Cau Da, near Cau Da Port in southern Nha Trang. The institute was established on September 14, 1922 under French rule, originally as the Indochina Fisheries and Oceanography Service.
The museum houses over 24,000 specimens of more than 4,000 species of marine and freshwater organisms, along with many live animal tanks. It is considered one of the largest marine research and preservation centers in Southeast Asia.
