Binh Ba Island
Details
Binh Ba Island covers an area of over 3 km², located in Cam Ranh Bay, about 60 km south of Nha Trang city center and 15 km east of Ba Ngoi Port. It is one of the Four Binh Islands (including Binh Hung, Binh Lap, Binh Tien, and Binh Ba) – coastal tourist areas that still retain pristine beauty in Khanh Hoa. The name 'Binh Ba' may originate from 'binh yen' (peaceful) or from 'Binh Dinh', commemorating the ancestors of the people who came from Binh Dinh to settle here in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The island has four hamlets: Binh Hung, Binh An, Binh Ba Dong, and Binh Ba Tay, with a population of nearly 5,000. Residents are concentrated mainly around the pier and Nom Beach. The island boasts three beautiful beaches: Chuong Beach (rocky, clear water), Nom Beach (white sand, local swimming spot), and Nha Cu Beach (home to many sea urchins). Additionally, the island preserves many war relics from before 1975 and attractions such as Ngu Hanh Mausoleum and Binh Ba communal house.
